TORTELLI HEADLINES IN BELFAST

Former double World Champion Sebastien Tortelli (France) headlines a star-filled list of World Class riders at the International Supercross at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on November 25th & 26th.

Tortelli’s career highlights include becoming the youngest ever 125cc World MX Champion at the tender age of 16, two years later he destroyed the 250cc competition by taking his second World Championship ahead of current Champ’ Stefan Everts.
The French flyer then took on the biggest challenge of his career – moving to the USA to race against all time legends Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael. He took no time at all to adapt to the incredibly challenging Supercross Stadium circuit winning his first ever US Supercross at the LA Coliseum in 1998. Since then he’s been constantly at the front of the US Motocross and Supercross scene.

In 2006 Tortelli has made the decision to come home and race the MX1 World Championship aboard a Factory Red Bull KTM – he’s going to be Stefan Evert’s biggest threat in years!
"We have to remember that Sebastien has won at every level in the World – Motocross and Supercross both in Europe and more recently in America" explained event organiser Matt Bates. "We’ve worked incredibly hard to secure some of the best riders in the World, and I firmly believe Belfast plays host to one of the best Supercross events in Europe. "Sebastien is truly one of today’s heroes from our sport, and I can’t think of a better welcome back to the UK than racing at the Odyssey in November".

Tortelli will be racing aboard a Factory KTM in the SX2 class against last years winner Mike Brown (USA) and current World Championship race winners Carl Nunn (UK) and Billy Mackenzie (SCO).

With Freestyle Motocross bringing the first ever live Back-Flip seen in Ireland and Mini Bike GP action starring Jeremy McWilliams, Ryan Farquhar, Leon Haslam, Michael Laverty, Adrian Archibald and Jonathan Rea….

The Odyssey is set to Rock on November 25th & 26th!
